Man who pled guilty to sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl — sentenced to 18 years in prison

Today, a judge sentenced Alejandro Marquez to 18 years of incarceration, followed by sex offender probation and parole and a life-long sex offender registry.
In the Summer of 2022, then 27-year-old Marquez met an 11-year-old child on Snapchat and used money to entice her to meet up with him in person. They engaged in sexual acts and continued meeting on several occasions until the victim’s family discovered what was happening.

In August, Marquez pled guilty to 1 count of Criminal Sexual Penetration in the First Degree (child under 13), 1 count of Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor in the Second Degree, 1 count of Solicitation (manufacturing), and 1 count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
The Bernalillo County District Attorney’s office would also like to thank members of the Albuquerque Police Department’s Child Exploitation Unit for their work on this case.
