Mother who was a passenger in a DWI crash that left two children dead and injured two others will spend 10 years behind bars. The crash happened in March, 2021. Both Danielle Ortiz and the driver, Alexis Martinez, got into the car with their children, then Martinez sped down the interstate and slammed into a concrete barrier. Each of the women lost a child in the crash. Two other children in the car were also injured. Ortiz asked Martinez to drive her home after the two had been drinking. In separate hearings, both women pled guilty to multiple charges. Last month, Martinez was sentenced to 18 years in the Department of Corrections.
