Paul Mendoza was sentenced to 15 years in the Department of Corrections with lifetime registration as a sex offender.

Mendoza and his co-defendant took a woman into an alley off Central and San Pedro, where they brutally sexually assaulted her. Mendoza bit the victim on her back, leaving his DNA on the bite marks.

The crime happened Oct. 2013. The District Attorney’s cold case rape unit, also known as SAKI, prosecuted this case.
