Today a judge ruled Clayton Garcia will stay behind bars as his case makes its way through the judicial process.
Investigators say earlier this month, Garcia beat his elderly father, Jorge, outside a home they shared.
Jorge died as a result of his injuries.
Clayton Garcia is charged with an open count of murder and tampering with evidence.
