On September 26, 2023, Special Agents with the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office and New Mexico State Police arrested Jarrett Chacon. Court records show Mr. Chacon had an outstanding felony warrant for aggravated fleeing from a law enforcement officer and felon in possession of a firearm. Court records show in August, Chacon fled from officers once they attempted to initiate a stop. When his vehicle became inoperable, officers found an AR-style rifle in the vehicle. Mr. Chacon was subsequently released from jail pending his trial. He failed to appear for his court hearing and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 27, 2023, Special Agents and NMSP Officers located Mr. Chacon. Once in custody, Mr. Chacon was found to have a handgun in his possession. He was again charged with being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
