Today, a judge ruled Omar Martinez will remain in custody as his case goes through the judicial process. Police say the 18-year-old brought a loaded gun onto the West Mesa High School campus last week.

Police found the gun in his waistband. They also found 38 bullets on Martinez – one of the bullets was in the gun’s chamber.

He is the second student at West Mesa High found with a firearm last week.

District Attorney Sam Bregman has ZERO tolerance for anyone who brings a gun onto school property.
