A District Court Judge ordered Matthew Chavez to remain in custody as his case makes its way through the judicial system.

Chavez is charged with Second Degree Kidnapping with Intent to Commit a Sex Offense, Attempted Armed Robbery, Criminal Sexual Contact with a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Assault.

Investigators say Chavez demanded sex from a Vietnamese employee at a local massage business, holding the woman at gunpoint.

The victim pretended to faint, then contacted a friend who called police.
