On August 2, 2023 Special Agents with the District Attorney’s Office located David Flores at an apartment complex on the 10000 block of Menaul Blvd NE. Flores barricaded inside of the apartment and refused to come out. Agents attempted to call Flores out of the apartment so they could safely apprehend him. Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team responded to assist with his apprehension. Flores deliberately altered his appearance to avoid being identified by law enforcement. After several hours, Flores was safely taken into custody without incident.

𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗

In December 2022, APD field officers were dispatched to a residence in the Foothills area command. Officers located the victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim told Detectives David Flores had shot him. Flores was at the victim’s house to retrieve some of his personal belongings. Flores felt the victim was taking too long to return the items. Investigators say Flores shot the victim in the leg. Detectives wrote an arrest warrant for him for Aggravated Battery (with a deadly weapon). Detectives later learned Flores had been convicted of multiple felonies in California, therefore added the charge of Felon in Possession. At the time of the incident, Flores already had a warrant for his arrest for Failure to Appear for Possession of Controlled Substance and Shoplifting (less than $250).
