Bernalillo County DA Agents, NM State Police & APD Arrest Man With Multiple Criminal Warrants
On October 23, 2023, Fabian Gutierrez was arrested in a joint effort by New Mexico State Police, Albuquerque Police and Agents with the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office. Court records show Gutierrez had outstanding warrants that included charges of receiving and transferring a stolen motor vehicle, aggravated fleeing of a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, shooting at or from a motor vehicle, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
BACKGROUND:
In December of 2022, Albuquerque Police located a stolen vehicle, and when attempting to stop the car, the driver took off. The vehicle was later located and evidence was collected tying Gutierrez to the stolen car.
In a separate case, in March of 2023 the owner of another stolen vehicle located it, occupied by Gutierrez and another person. Gutierrez began shooting at the car’s owner then fled from law enforcement. After conducting a pit maneuver and stopping Gutierrez, police found a gun on him. Gutierrez was released from MDC on Pretrial Services. Gutierrez was required to report to a halfway house. He failed to show up and another warrant was issued for his arrest in July of 2023.
Law Enforcement arrested him again Monday.
