Agents with the District Attorney’s Office arrested a suspect who was out of jail on a GPS monitor, and let her ankle monitor die.
Agents located Arianna Hawkins near Rio Grande and Central. She was taken into custody without incident. Hawkins was wearing a monitor after charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
BACKGROUND
In April 2021, Arianna Hawkins and three other people used Arianna’s Facebook account to set up a drug buy at a park in southwest Albuquerque. They all planned to take the drugs without paying for them. Two of the other people made contact with Ryan Saavedra Jr. Ryan was later shot and killed as a result of the drug buy.
On January 26, 2022 Arianna was arrested and charged with Attempt to Commit a Felony (Robbery) and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.
On February 4, 2022 Pretrial Detention was granted to keep Arianna in jail. Arianna was also indicted by a Grand Jury for the charges of Attempt to Commit a Felony (Robbery) and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.
On April 19, 2023 a motion was filed to change Arianna’s pleas to No Contest/Guilty. Arianna was released from MDC on Pretrial Services on April 27, 2023.
On May 21, 2023 a Bench Warrant was issued for Arianna for Failure To Comply with conditions of release after her ankle monitor died. Arianna was arrested later that day.
On May 24, 2023 Arianna was released from MDC on Pretrial Services for a second time.
On September 2, 2023 a Bench Warrant was issued for Arianna for Failure To Comply with conditions of release after her ankle monitor died for a second time.
