Today, a judge sentenced Xavier Marquez to 17 years in the Department of Corrections.

On September 22, 2021, Marquez shot and killed Shawn Lynch. Mr. Lynch was walking his dog when Marquez shot the dog. The two men got into an argument, then Marquez shot Lynch. Marquez pled guilty to the crime in February.
