A Jury convicted Taya Leyba of receiving or transferring a stolen motor vehicle.
In September 2021, bystanders were understandably concerned about a child left in a hot car while Leyba went shopping, so they called the police.
When police spoke to Leyba, she gave them four different stories about how she came to possess the car earlier that day.
Turns out the car was hot in more ways than one — it had just been stolen.
Leyba had the victim’s driver’s license and other people’s credit cards in her bra.
