Man who declined treatment, just convicted of Drug Possession — Now faces 8 years in prison.
A jury convicted Christopher Madore of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
In 2022 he was parked in front of an optical store. Police checked on him and spotted burnt foil, a lighter in his lap and a bag of approximately 17 fentanyl pills at his feet.
The Bernalillo County District Attorney’s office offered him a chance at treatment instead of incarceration. He declined and instead wanted to go to trial.
He is facing up to 8 years in the Department of Corrections because he is a habitual offender.
