On March 30, 2021, Alexis Martinez and Danielle Ortiz were drinking at an ABQ home when they got into an argument.
Ortiz asked Martinez to drive her home. Each woman put their two children in the car. Martinez sped down I-25, crashing the car near Menaul. Two children, ages 7 years old and a 2 month old baby were killed. The other two children were seriously injured.
Today Ortiz pled guilty to 2 counts of homicide by vehicle DWI, and 2 counts of great bodily injury by vehicle.
She faces up to 30 years of incarceration. Sentencing will take place at a later date.
