Ortiz asked Martinez to drive her home. Each woman put their two children in the car. Martinez sped down I-25, crashing the car near Menaul. Two children, ages seven-years-old and a two-month-old infant, were killed. The other two children, ages 2 and 3 were seriously injured.

Today Martinez pled guilty to child abuse resulting in death, homicide by vehicle and two counts of great bodily injury by vehicle.

She faces up to 30 years of incarceration.

Sentencing will take place at a later date.
