Community Based Crime Reduction
Community Based Crime Reduction, International District initiative has a vision of a safer, more peaceful International District, accomplished by cultivating and boosting the neighborhood’s existing strengths and resilience to decrease crime rates. The project aims to implement a variety of community driven, place-based interventions in an effort to build trust, connect at-risk populations with resources, and combat crime. These projects fall under the broad categories of 1) community health and social services, and 2) community prosecution and policing.

Pillars of the Program
- Community Health and Social Services
- Community Prosecution
- Reduction of Gun Violence and Group Violence Intervention
- Community Restorative Justice Boards or Circles

Mobile Resource Center
The Mobile Resource Center (MRC) is a mobile trailer that will travel to different areas and communities throughout the International District. The purpose of the MRC is to connect visitors with resources within the community to expand individuals' knowledge of International District organizations. Once the MRC is fully operational there will be select times at which our Community Outreach Coordinators will staff the MRC to assist with referral services for basic needs. The Community Prosecutor will also assist with diversion programs and other community policing activities.

Action Plan
The Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office received a three-year grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (Grant Number: 2018-BJ-BX-0006) for community-based crime reduction projects in Albuquerque’s International District.
